Statsbygg has started the planning of a new museum facility in Oslo, and requires use of BIM in this prestigious plan.
The new building will be the home of the National Museum of Architecture, Art and Design and will be located on the site of the former railway station for westbound trains. The effort is being carried out on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs. Statsbygg has issued a tender for an open plan and design competition for architects. One of the requirements for the competition is that the participants must produce a simple digital 3D-model/BIM (Building Information Model). This is the first time such a requirement has been included in this kind of competition.
